Fall Sports have very successful seasons!

With the football team finally completing their season on Nov 14th, I thought I would review the successes of our fall sports in 2009. First, our Chick Volleyball team finished with a 20-11-3 record, finishing 2nd in the conference and 2nd in the district. They placed 1st in the Warrensburg tournament. Our girls golf team had the most wins in duals this year, placing in a tournament and bringing home their first trophy. Bailey Gates also qualified again for the state golf tournament. She's the first back to back qualifer in Chicks history. Our softball team finished co-conference champs and District champs. They also won the Pleasant Hill Invitational tournament. The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams also were very successful. The boys won the conference meet for the 3rd year in a row and won the District meet for the 2nd year in a row. They finished up 12th in the state as a team. Taylor Tribble qualified for state for the girls team. Finally, our football team finished with an 8-5 record, finishing 3rd in the conference, district runner-up and sectional and regional champions. They were defeated by O'Hara in the quarterfinal by a score of 50-49. It was a very exciting game! So as you can see, our fall sports have set the tone for the year and I look forward to watching our winter teams compete. I hope you come out and support our Roosters and Chicks this winter!
